Fixamotor is operated by Softalake Oy, a Finnish limited company (business ID 3661996-4), registered address Ruulahdentie 16 A9 Jyväskylä, Finland. In these terms, "Fixamotor", "we" and "us" mean Softalake Oy.
These terms apply when you use fixamotor.com and the Fixamotor apps (the "Service") as a car owner to request and compare repair quotes. Repair shops that send quotes through the Service agree to separate Shop Terms. How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
By creating an account or submitting a quote request, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These terms were last updated on 16.10.2026 and take effect on 16.10.2026.
Fixamotor is a marketplace that connects you with independent repair shops. You describe what your car needs, shops send you quotes, and you choose whether to accept one.
The shops are independent businesses, not part of Fixamotor. Every shop on the Service is a trader acting in its own name. When you accept a quote, the repair contract is between you and that shop only. Fixamotor is not a party to it and does not carry out, supervise or guarantee any repair work.
This means:
What we do check. Before a shop can send quotes, we check that it is a registered business with a valid VAT number. We do not inspect workshops, test the quality of their work or check their staff's qualifications, unless we clearly say so on a shop's profile.
We are responsible for operating the Service itself with reasonable care and skill, as described in these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. You may use it as a private person or on behalf of a business that owns or manages vehicles; if you act for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
You can send a quote request with just a verified email address. To view, compare and accept the quotes you receive, you need an account; we ask you to set a password and create one right after you send your request. If you have an account, you agree to:
You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it results from our failure to keep the Service secure. One person may hold one account.
To get quotes, you submit a request describing your car (such as make, model, year and registration number), the work you need or the symptoms you have noticed, your location, and any photos you choose to add.
We send your request to repair shops that serve your area and the type of work requested. We aim to send each request to several shops, but we cannot promise how many will respond, or that any will.
Please describe the car and the problem as accurately as you can. A quote is only as good as the information it is based on, and a shop may change or withdraw its quote after inspecting the car if the request turns out to be inaccurate or incomplete.
Shops can see the details of your request and, where needed to prepare a quote, your first name and approximate location. Your full contact details are shared only with the shop whose quote you accept, or if you choose to share them in a message.
Requests stay open for 30 days. You can cancel a request at any time before accepting a quote, at no cost.
If you send a request but do not create an account, shops still receive it and may send quotes. We email you each time a quote arrives, and you can view and accept it at any time before the request expires by creating an account with the same email address. When the request expires without an account being created, we delete your email address and other details that identify you or your car (such as the registration number and photos). We keep only anonymised details of the request and quotes, as described in section 9.
Each quote is prepared by the shop that sends it. The shop decides its price, what is included and how long the quote is valid. We do not set, check or guarantee quoted prices.
Quoted prices shown to consumers include VAT. A quote is an estimate based on your request; the shop must tell you and get your approval before doing extra work or exceeding the quoted price, as required by consumer law where you live.
Accepting a quote. When you accept a quote in the Service, you enter into an agreement with that shop for the work described, on the shop's own terms. We pass your acceptance and contact details to the shop so you can agree on a time. Other shops are told the request is closed.
Cancelling or changing a booking. Arrange this directly with the shop. Its own cancellation terms apply. Please let the shop know as early as possible if you cannot make it; repeated no-shows may lead us to restrict your account (section 12).
Problems with the work. Contact the shop first; it is responsible for remedying defects. If you are unhappy with how a shop has behaved on the Service, you can also tell us (section 14). We may use this to take action against the shop under the Shop Terms, but we cannot decide a dispute about the repair or order a refund from the shop.
The Service is free for car owners. You pay nothing to Fixamotor for requesting, comparing or accepting quotes.
We earn money from shops. A shop pays us a fixed fee, set per type of service, when a car owner accepts its quote. The fee does not depend on the quoted price, and shops that are not chosen pay nothing. Shops may not add this fee to your bill as a separate charge.
You pay for the repair directly to the shop, using whatever payment methods the shop accepts. If we ever introduce paid features for car owners, we will show the price clearly and ask for your agreement before you are charged.
By default, quotes are listed in the order they arrive. You can re-sort them by price, distance or rating.
Which shops receive your request depends mainly on:
The first three decide which shops are eligible to receive your request. Among eligible shops, those with better ratings and response rates are more likely to be chosen. Shops that are new to Fixamotor and have no rating or response history yet are treated as average until they build one.
No paid ranking. Shops cannot pay to be shown higher or to receive more requests. The lead fee in section 6 is the same for every shop for the same type of service and does not affect ranking. If this ever changes, we will clearly label any paid placement.
After you accept a quote, you can rate and review that shop. Only car owners who have accepted a quote from a shop through Fixamotor can review it, so every published review is linked to a real booking on the Service. We do not check whether the work was actually carried out.
Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience. You may not:
We publish all reviews that meet these rules, positive or negative. Shops cannot pay to remove or hide reviews. We may remove a review that breaks these rules or the law, and we will tell the author why.
A shop's rating is the average of all its reviews.
You keep ownership of the text, photos and other content you add to the Service. You give Fixamotor a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, copy and share that content as needed to run the Service: for example, showing your request and photos to shops, and publishing your reviews. For reviews, the licence continues after you close your account, unless you delete the review first.
We may also use request and quote data in aggregated, anonymised form (such as average prices for a type of repair in a region) to improve and promote the Service. This data cannot identify you.
You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Messages between you and a shop are delivered through the Service. We do not read them routinely, but we may review them when investigating a report, a suspected breach of these terms, or where required by law.
When using the Service, you must not:
You are free to contact a shop directly once you have accepted its quote. We only ask that you do not use the Service purely to obtain shops' quotes and then pass them to others.
Anyone can tell us about content on the Service they believe is illegal or breaks these terms, by emailing support@fixamotor.com. Please include where the content is, why you think it is illegal or breaks these terms, and your name and email (unless you are reporting certain child sexual abuse offences). We will confirm receipt and tell you what we decided.
How we moderate. Our team reviews reports and flagged content manually; we do not use automated systems to remove content. Depending on the seriousness, we may:
We act in a timely, diligent and objective way, taking into account everyone's rights, including freedom of expression.
Your right to know why. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we will tell you what we did, why, and which rule or law it was based on, unless the law prevents us. You can ask us to review the decision within six months by replying to that notice or contacting support@fixamotor.com. You may also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the Digital Services Act, or go to court.
You can close your account at any time in your account settings or by contacting us. Closing it does not cancel any agreement you have already made with a shop. We delete or anonymise your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, except where we must keep it by law.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, use the Service fraudulently, or if the law requires us to. Examples include fake requests, abuse of shop staff, fake reviews, or repeated no-shows. Our response will be proportionate: for a first or minor breach we will usually warn you first.
We will tell you of a suspension or closure and our reasons, as described in section 11, and you can ask us to review it. We may also close accounts that have been inactive for more than 36 months after giving you at least 30 days' notice by email.
If we stop operating the Service altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice.
What we are not responsible for. Because shops are independent (section 2), we are not liable for the quality, safety, price, timing or outcome of any repair, for parts supplied by a shop, or for anything a shop says or does. Claims about the repair belong with the shop.
Availability. We work to keep the Service running and secure, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or because of problems with our providers. We are not liable for losses caused by interruptions outside our reasonable control.
Limits on our liability. We are liable for direct damage you suffer because we breached these terms through our own negligence. As the Service is free for car owners, our total liability to you is limited to 100€ per event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost income or the cost of a replacement vehicle.
What these limits do not affect. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any rights you have under mandatory consumer law in the country where you live.
If you use the Service as a business, the limit above applies to all claims combined in any 12-month period, and you are responsible for any loss we suffer because you broke these terms.
About a repair: contact the shop first. It is responsible for the work.
About Fixamotor or a shop's behaviour on the Service: email support@fixamotor.com. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve complaints within 30 days.
If we cannot agree and you are a consumer, you can contact:
Using these routes does not affect your right to go to court.
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the Service, the law or how we operate. For changes that matter to you, we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect, explaining what is changing. Minor changes, such as correcting typos or updating contact details, may take effect immediately.
If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply. Changes never affect agreements you have already made with a shop.
We may add, change or remove features of the Service. If a change significantly reduces what the Service offers you, we will give you reasonable advance notice.
Governing law. These terms are governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.
Courts. As a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live or in Finland. If you use the Service as a business, disputes will be settled by the District Court of Central Finland (Keski-Suomen käräjäoikeus).
Language. These terms are available in English and Polish. All language versions are equally valid for consumers; for business users, the English version prevails if they differ.
